Where we can help

The work we handle.

A customer’s draft, a new supplier or terms you use every day. The starting point is the commercial arrangement behind the document.

Winning and delivering customer work

Put the commercial arrangement into documents that reflect what you supply, or review the terms a customer asks you to sign.

  • Customer contracts and service agreements
  • Master services and framework agreements
  • Standard terms of business

Working with suppliers and partners

Review the agreement behind a business relationship, from a supplier appointment to a distribution or licensing arrangement.

  • Supplier and distribution agreements
  • Licensing, franchise and agency agreements
  • Partnership and referral agreements

Reviewing or renegotiating a contract

Bring us the draft, the existing agreement and the context. We can review wording, prepare revisions and support the negotiation within an agreed scope.

  • Review of counterparty contracts
  • NDAs and confidentiality agreements
  • Drafting, amendments and negotiation to signature

How we work

A defined scope.
A clear way forward.

The proposal names your DoesLaw lawyer and the work we will handle. Your appointed lawyer leads the matter and explains the decisions along the way.

  1. Understand the arrangement

Discuss what the contract covers, who the parties are and where negotiations stand. Agree the documents, work and engagement terms.

  2. Review or prepare the draft

Review proposed wording or prepare the agreed document. Consider payment, responsibilities, liability and termination in the context of the arrangement.

  3. Work through the terms

Explain the points that need your decision, prepare comments or revised wording and handle the negotiation work included in the engagement.

  4. Finalise the agreement

Bring the agreed drafting to its final form and explain any remaining points before signing. Confirm what is complete and any work outside scope.

Useful answers

Before we begin.

Can you review a contract someone else has sent me?

Yes. Share the draft and explain the arrangement, any points already agreed and the stage of discussion. We will confirm the proposed review and negotiation scope before work begins.

Can you work from our existing template?

Yes. Send the template and explain where it is used and what needs to change. The scope can cover a particular agreement or work on the underlying business terms.

Does the work include negotiation?

It can. A document review and negotiation through to signature are different scopes. The proposal will identify the drafting, discussions and revisions included.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Describe the relationship and the document you need help with. Include the draft, relevant correspondence, the stage of negotiation and your preferred timing. We will confirm what we can take on before agreeing the work.
